About the Café
Thank you for your interest in the Dryden Community Center Café!
"DC3" is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run community center. Our primary goal is to offer the Dryden community and surrounding areas a relaxed and welcoming place to gather for coffee, conversation, music, and events.
About Our Community Center:
- The Center was established by community members in 2007.
- DC3 is staffed and operated primarily by community members who collectively volunteer thousands of hours each year.
- Each year we host over a dozen FREE community events!
- We provide a community meeting space, made available both during and after hours.
- We offer the perfect venue and location for small fundraising events.
- Check out our kid’s area, with toys, games, books, and a chalkboard for endless fun.
- We achieved 501c3 status in 2013 to formalize our organization as a not-for-profit. This also means your donations are tax deductible!
- Our 9-member Board of Directors is elected annually by DC3 members, and over sees operations.
About the Café:
- Serving fresh sandwiches and paninis, all made to order by our volunteers.
- Our delicious coffee is roasted locally by Coffee Mania, located in Cortland, NY. Like what you taste? We also carry a variety of 1lb bags of their whole-bean, flavorful roasted coffee.
- Soups, baked goods and quiches are all made in house from scratch by our volunteers.
- Whenever possible, we source local produce for our menu and provide organic when we can.
- Come in for Muffin Monday, Waffle Wednesday and Saturday or Thursday Spaghetti Nights.
Arts and Literacy:
- The main Café wall displays new artwork each month, exclusively featuring work from local artists. If you have suggestions for future art displays, please let us know!
- Local musicians host Free Music Fridays and the occasional Thursday Spaghetti night. If you know anyone who would be interested in playing, please contact our manager.
- Our Open Mic Night is the third Friday of each month. Share a poem, song, or just come to listen and enjoy some great company.
- In the back of our café, our book-swap bookshelf is constantly changing, as community members take and/or leave books as they wish.
Activities:
- DC3 hosts and participates in local events, such as the Dairy Day Parade, Dryden Harvest Festival, DC3’s Annual Chili Cook-off and Apple Pie Contest, and so much more!
- Additionally, DC3 provides food for Hopshire Brewery’s Friday evening music nights.
- We proudly provide a venue, donations, and assistance to other local organizations in their fundraising efforts.
- DC3 holds a variety of family and kid-focused activities each year.
- During the Holiday Season, you can find a salvation Army “Angel Tree” decorating our space and providing for kids in need.
- DC3 has also served as the birthplace for great ideas, such as Dryden’s Community Garden.
